Clergy Wars truce is attempted.

February 12, 2009

Some 100 ministers meet at the Grace Church of All Nations Church. The purpose of the meeting is to put an end to internal rivalries that have hindered efforts to reduce youth violence in the black community. The rivalries sprang up after formation of the Boston Ten point Coalition in 1992, which was credited with so-called “Boston Miracle” that temporarily reduced the incidence of youth violence. Subsequent competition for funding and credit and personal animosities among ministers including Jeffrey Brown, Ray Hammond III, Eugene Rivers and Bruce Wall had hindered that effort in recent years.
